BlackBerry Curve 8980 has been heard will be coming soon in China during the summer on its way to China Mobile’s network. It followed up on the BlackBerry 8910 with Wi-Fi feature, but keep HVGA display, 3.2 megapixel camera, just like other BlackBerry in general.
No 3G but that will change with other devices that will soon exit the BlackBerry Bold 9788 (pictured above), RIM BlackBerry first TD-SCDMA. China has its own 3G standard in there, so it requires little special distinction.
Besides walking on TD-SCDMA network of China Mobile (which will work in Taiwan as well), we only really know that it runs OSņ, such as 9780. Probably safe to assume all the specifications, such as a 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, 2.4-inch HVGA screen, 624 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM.
RIM makes it very clear that they are interested in selling their devices internationally, and supports China’s 3G standard is something needs if they want to enter the largest market in the world. There is also the issue of dealing with government security, but it seems that RIM has fulfilled what the Chinese government wants the same as what happened also in Indonesia
